This is a blend of aged rums from Barbados which then undergoes a signature double-aging process from Plantation. After its initial maturation in the Caribbean, the rum is transported to France to spend additional time in French oak Cognac casks. This expression is also well-known for its “dosage,” the addition of a small amount of sugar, which contributes to its signature rich and sweet profile.
Nose: Ripe Banana, Pineapple, Vanilla, Caramel, Oak Spice Palate: Rich creamy mouthfeel, Mango, Papaya, Dark Chocolate, Toasted Nuts, Caramelized Fruit Finish: Long, warm finish, Sweet Tropical Fruit, Gentle Spice, Soft Oak
Plantation XO is a rich, decadent, and dessert-like rum. The double-aging process and the added dosage create an incredibly smooth and approachable profile that’s loaded with sweet, tropical fruit notes. While the sweetness might not be for purists, there’s no denying this is a luxurious and easy-sipping spirit that has served as a gateway for many into the world of premium rum. It’s a beautifully crafted product that is perfect for after-dinner sipping.
